A remastered version titled Mafia II: Definitive Edition was released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in May, 2020 and features improved visuals and includes all of the DLC. I have played the original game before so for this review, I played the Definitive Edition. Mafia II is set in the fictional city of Empire Bay.
They remade the entire game from the start. They could have added ton of improvement to the original experience. They didn't and it feels pretty damn outdated thanks to that. Mafia 2 definitive edition is twice the game Mafia 1 definitive edition is and it's just a remaster of Mafia 2, and not even a remake.
